for the war that is going on. from the start of the game. you can give one side items and health,ammo. Then you can get good rep with them as you go. So they won't attack you

Played with Split and Double until I got Crossguard, then it was Split “and” CG but I really just stuck to Crossguard. Luv me STR build, simple as that:)

I love the double bladeed saber, purely because it can shred someone's defense and take out a tone more health even after the window for attacks is gone. It's the stun lock machine

Since you’re new to the series I don’t expect you to know all the ins and outs of the game. But most MGS fans would tell you to play the subsistence version of the game instead of the original. So that camera wouldn’t be an issue. Now secondly the item management is actually not bad at all. As most play throughs you only ever need a few weapons. Now if you’re new and trying everything out I can see that being an issue but even when I started off when I was kid I don’t recall having a problem because I’d just equip the weapons I’d for sure want and that’s it typically never having to go back into it. Only a few moments in the game where something else is required. Also the more weight you’re carrying the more stamina drains which is why you’ll see people carrying the bare minimum. I also didn’t have an issue with the cure, food or camo menus because although it is going into a menu it felt more immersive in a way. Least as a kid it did. Having to actually eat the food, and cure myself of injuries, and changing what I’m wearing in blend in to the environment just felt more immersive. Could it be executed better? Sure maybe a quick menu in game like the equip menu for items. But the issue you have with camo is also the same thing as the weapons and items. Although yes you can equip different camos in every area it isn’t needed. You only need to switch your camo about 5 times or 6. As you can get through majority of the game with 1 game as it gives you about 30-50% in most areas. Only needing to change it for a few locations, like the desert mountain top, the little river, the 2 different disguises. Thats 4 there. And swapping back after the disguise is 5. Also if you take out bosses with non lethal means (except for the end) you get their camos which ocelot gives a camo that helps your aim not shake when stamina is low. Which then allows you to ignore the eating part lol. Even though the menus are an understandable “complaint” I don’t think it changes the game being the best in the series tbh. It’s truly a masterpiece

Portable Ops is proof that you can take Kojima's storytelling concepts and do it better than he can. In fact, he's probably more detrimental for the storytelling element since he often gets left unchecked. See almost any in depth look into the development of any other Metal Gear Solid game to see what I mean. However, his insight into game development and creative gaming interactions is still unmatched....at least, at Konami.

i mean Kojima said that Portable Ops is non canon, but recently he said that game is canon, the game was developed to be canon and MG haven’t suffered a universe reset like star wars, so it’s still canon

Haven’t unlocked him yet but he’s a nightmare on hardcore. I got his knife from my first play through on standard and the other knife plus a broken butterfly. The arm is the only issue and timing the crouch just right

while not my first AC game (that being AC4), Formula Front was the first AC game I personally owned, and it’s still my favourite in the series

When this game came out originally on the psp, I HAAAAAATED it due to the bad controls. When the HD version came out on the PS3/Xbox 360, that's when I gave it a proper go at it. personally I love the story. But It's one those games, once you 100% it or heck even just finishing the main story once. You never want to go back for various reasons like chapter 5 and grinding for parts. To be honest, the only reason I finished this game and got the platinum trophy was because I was playing it online with random people with OP weapons to defeat Zeke. I still can't believe you done all of that by yourself. Very well done. If this game does come to master collection volume 2. I highly doubt it I'll replay it 😅

Bro this game is hard but in the best way possible, first playthrough rn and I love this game so much! I like how I keep dying man a dungeon where its too easy sucks, I mean did I even die once in Tears Of The Kingdom dungeons? I legit think I died like once in the Gerudo one, this is fire though there temples and dungeons in this game are TOUGH

MGS4 is the my first entry to metal gear series. I bought PS3 and that along. Only after that I replayed the first one.

This game's "story" makes Kingdom Hearts Coded feel like the most important piece of that series' lore that holds everything together.

I like Joint Assault a lot, but you can immediately see the problems with setting it in the real world. Your enemy being a splinter group from the fall of the Soviet Union isn't remotely interesting or original from a narrative point of view, and the stakes can never be quite as high as an actual war playing out before you. I personally thought the OST was a bit much, and was much happier when a classic Ace 2 track came back. Still, I love the variation and customisability of your arsenal.

Making this an Xbox exclusive was a perplexingly terrible idea. This game's a big departure gameplay-wise, but I like the structure of it and firmly believe the community would have embraced it had more of them been able to play it. The big battles with multiple theatres are a cool idea and I would enjoy a few missions like that in a future Ace game, but having every mission be based on it in Ace 6 does get fatiguing. It's no wonder Project Aces rubber-banded into the opposite problem with Assault Horizon.

Ace Z is a great game, but I do think it's saved by the cool factor. The aircraft variety, mission variety and story involvement are not as good as Ace 5's, with a lot of filler, but it has the best soundtrack of the PS2 era and fighting sexy ace squadrons doesn't get old. I feel the team gets credit for writing some great tragic antihero in Pixy that it doesn't really deserve, since he didn't really have a personality until mission 10 and falls far short of most of Ace 5's wingmen. Still, when you're playing a game about fighter jets, cool factor counts for a lot.

I wish Bandai Namco could get the rights to these older Armored Core games and bring them to modern platforms, whether they be remakes, remasters, or just ports

Just finished this now and hoo boy! I shouldn't have slept on this one. Honestly really good when using a guide. It's fascinating seeing how many of the things MG2 was carried into Metal Gear Solid 1

Better played on PPSSPP for 60fps patch and better controls

people are sleeping on the dual wields ability to cancel attacks with a block.

At first I hated cross-guard when the game forced me to use it, but then when I got the chance to change it, I was like “meh, let’s see where this goes” and then defeated Rayvis the first try and destroyed the stupid Rancor barely taking any hits. That’s when I decided the higher defense highly outweighed the slower attacks. Some hits are hard to read, but it makes up for those missed blocks with the massive damage. Only cross-guard and dual wield for me. Fast attacks and low defense to slow attacks and high defense. Shit made me feel like a badass

The replay value on this 1 is high, there's so much u can do and easter eggs. The part where u trail the guy in the streets if u look behind u can see someone tracking you
